A Home away from Home… A Stay at the All New Oak Tree Respite
Who do you turn to when your family member has a disability and your regular support system is not equipped to handle the special needs that come with a disability? Who do you turn to when you need a break from caregiver roles? The answer is UCP Heartland. UCP Heartland provides Individual and Family Supports that keep families together.
UCP Heartland’s Oak Tree Respite offers a home away from home at our fully staffed, two bedroom home in St. Louis county. Adults with disabilities receive support and a safe place to stay while caregivers are able to travel for business, tend to family matters or just have an evening alone. Visitors of Oak Tree Respite receive a planned or emergency relief for up to two weeks at a time including overnight care while their caregiver receives a much needed respite. According to the National Respite Coalition, respite care is “a planned or emergency short-term relief to caregivers from the demands of ongoing care for an individual with special needs or at risk of abuse or neglect.” The Residential Supports at UCP Heartland’s Oak Tree promotes a healthy family and keeps families together.
Hours of Operation:
UCP Heartland’s Oak Tree Respite is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Visitors at Oak Tree Respite receive assistance with personal care, 3 nutritious meals daily, and socialize with other house guests. UCP Heartland offers a 3:1 ratio of guests to staff.
